<p>Ryan Spence Montgomery, 48, devoted husband of 22 years to Lee Anne Montgomery, went to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, December 4, 2022.</p><p><br></p><p>He was born in Columbia, SC and raised in Hilton Head, SC.</p><p><br></p><p>Ryan and Lee Anne met while attending Clemson University. They married and started their life together. Ryan loved to travel and always had a fabulous family vacation planned. He was full of energy and enjoyed finding a new hobby; scuba diving, obtaining is pilot’s license, photography, playing guitar and hunting and fishing with his boys. Ryan loved being a dad and never missed an opportunity to be on the field as a coach or assisting the team just to be near his boys.</p><p><br></p><p>Ryan started his own law firm thirteen years ago, Ryan Montgomery Law. He ran his law practice with purpose where he felt he could make a difference. Ryan was dedicated to helping others. He received many legal accolades over his career but was never one to boast about his accomplishments. For Ryan, one of his greatest accomplishments did not come by way of profession but by way of personal achievement.</p><p><br></p><p>A humble and thoughtful man, he would do anything for anyone. Ryan was incredibly kind and caring, always making others feel loved and valued. Ryan was strong, resilient, brave and a brilliant man who cherished his wife and children. Ryan had an incredible joy for life and family.</p><p><br></p><p>Ryan was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.</p><p><br></p><p>Ryan's legacy will forever be cherished in the hearts of his wonderful wife, Lee Anne; and his three children who he adored, Jackson Spence, Alexander Quinn, and Chapman Banks Montgomery; mother, Barbara Dunn of Hilton Head, uncle, Paul Montgomery and his wife, Karen of Churchville, VA; father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Dianne Jones, two sisters-in-law, Cynthia Smith and her husband, Andrew, and Tera Jones; nephew and niece, Mason and Whitney Smith.</p><p><br></p><p>A visitation will be held Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church in the fellowship hall followed by the funeral service in the sanctuary at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 225 Halton Road, Greenville, SC 29607</p><p><br></p><p>Friends are encouraged to share their favorite memories of Ryan with the family by clicking on the button labeled “Leave A Message, Share A Memory” below.</p>
