<p>June States Filson Morton, 86, of Buena Vista passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and Lexington Baptist Church. June was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Watson and Mabel Rife States; first husband, Bobby R. Filson; second husband, James E. Morton, Sr; step-daughter, Margaret M. Worley. She is survived by her daughters, Anita D. Filson (Jay Gilliam), Teresa F. Price (Bill); grandchildren, Natalie Bennis (Todd), Nathan Mutispaugh (Sarah), Neil Mutispaugh (Carmen), Ryan Price, Ben Price (Sarah), Justin Price, Gavin Clark (Amy Parziale), Nell Gilliam, James E. Morton, III (Michelle); twelve great grandchildren; siblings, Lorraine Carter, Anna Vest (Lewis), Patricia Gose (Bob), Sandra Jefferson, Ed States (Mary Ellen), Don States; son-in-law, Norman Worley; much loved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Oakey’s North Chapel with the Rev. Nathan Mutispaugh. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Oakey’s North Chapel. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Golden Living Center in Buena Vista for their loving care.
