Donna C. Zimmerman, 68, of Harrisburg, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at home. Born on June 27, 1952 in Hagerstown, Maryland to the late William D. and Frances (Liskey) Cutchall. Donna dedicated her life to helping children. She spent her career as a social worker, helping improve child welfare at Children and Youth, United Cerebral Palsy, and Head Start. Later in life she helped place children into adoptive families for Catholic Charities. At the end of her career and into retirement, she continued to tirelessly help others, successfully reuniting adopted children with their biological parents. She was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Harrisburg, enjoyed going to the beach, gardening, as well as spending time with her family and friends. Surviving are her daughter, Jennifer E. Halfond and her husband, Scott of Harrisburg, son, Mark W. Zimmermann and his wife, Marita of Seattle, WA, 3 grandsons, Anthony, Caleb and Braden. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 420 North Progress Avenue, Harrisburg, PA 17109. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg, PA. Viewings will be from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 in the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, 2100 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110 and from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Thursday in the church. Memorial contributions in Donna’s honor may be made to Southern Poverty Law Center, 400 Washington Avenue, Montgomery, AL 36104 or to the Nature Conservancy, 2101 North Front Street, Building #1, Suite 200, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
