Age 70, passed away peacefully at the Chemung County Nursing Facility on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. Karen was born in Geneva NY, daughter of the late Charles F. and Frances (Furano) Calabro. She was also predeceased by her brother Thomas E. Calabro. Karen is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Terry J. Reed; son and daughter-in-law, Lance J. and Laura Reed of Elmira NY with children Chloe and Cayla Reed; daughter and son-in-law, Heather M. and Jon Buckley of Syracuse with children Landyn and Lucas Buckley; daughters Brooke E. Reed and Stacey N. Reed both of Elmira; special family friend William Makin of Brooklyn NY. Karen had worked for many years at the Seneca Army Depot in Romulus NY. It was while she was working in Romulus that she and Terry met. Karen had been a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Time spent with family was cherished by both Karen and Terry. Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, 224 Franklin St., Elmira, on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. Masks will be required at church. A livestream of the Mass will be available through the Facebook page for Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish (https://www.facebook.com/ElmiraCatholic). Committal prayers will follow at Woodlawn National Cemetery. Those wishing may remember Karen with a donation to the Chemung County Humane Society and SPCA, 2435 State Route 352, Elmira NY 14903.
