<p><p>Maureen Susan (Doherty) Dupont, a dedicated teacher and life-long resident of Holyoke, passed away peacefully on Friday May 21, 2021. Maureen was born on September 5, 1951 to the late John “Jack” and Viola (Padden) Doherty. She graduated from Holyoke High School and Westfield State University and began teaching for the Holyoke Public Schools in 1983. Maureen was passionate about all sports, none more than baseball, football and golf. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and was loved by many in the Holyoke community. A devoted mother, wife, sister and grandmother, she is survived by her children: David A. Dupont and his fiancée Patricia Cavanaugh, Kelly Dupont, and Matthew and Brandy Dupont; husband David L. Dupont; her brother and sister-in-law Tony and Mary Doherty; her brother-in-law Steven and his wife Ellen Dupont; her mother-in-law Rose Dupont; her grandchildren: Laila, Liberty, and Niegel; and her niece and nephews Noel and Adam Dupont, Brian Doherty, Jonathan and Katlyn Doherty. Besides her parents Jack and Viola, Maureen was predeceased by her brother John Doherty, and her father-in-law Leopold Dupont. The funeral will be held on Thursday May 27th at 9 am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Saint Jerome Church, 169 Hampden Street. Burial will follow in Saint Jerome Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 26th from 4 to 7 pm.
