“There are some who bring a light so great into the world, that even after they have gone, their light remains…” –Anonymous

On Saturday, May 1st, 2021, we unexpectedly lost our dear son, brother, uncle, friend, partner, and devoted employee. Javier was on a family vacation in San Felipe, Mexico, and on the day of his passing, he was surrounded by those who loved him.

Javier was born on November 12, 1964 in Yuriria, Guanajuato, Mexico to Zeferino Juarez and Aurora Martinez. When Javier was three, the family moved to Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, where Javier grew up until immigrating to the United States in 1982. Javier is survived by his parents, Zeferino and Aurora, as well as his eight siblings: Arcelia Juarez, Ruben Juarez, Jose Guadalupe Juarez, Zeferino Juarez (Yolanda), Jesus Juarez (Lily), Norma Pardo (Dagoberto), Edith Becerra (Paul), and Perla Davis (Jamie). He is survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. Javier is also survived by his partner of 14 years, Ken Clem, and their dogs, Papi, Luna, Kasha, Mimi, and Coco.

Javier began an over 32-year career with Grimmway Farms on December 12, 1988, working at the Arvin Division. His hard work and dedication facilitated his professional growth and promotions. In 1994, Javier promoted to the Malaga Fresh Processing Baby Whole Day Whole as a Supervisor. Javier played a critical role in the early development and continued success of the Baby Carrot and in recognition of his hard work and leadership, Javier promoted to the role of Operations Manager in 2016 of the Malaga Baby Whole Division, where he served in this capacity until his passing.

Javier was a leader in every aspect of his life: his professional life as well as his personal life. He took initiative in everything from organizing our weekly breakfasts, trips, and family gatherings. He was the rock to our family; our hero, and the person we all admired. He made sure that in everything he did, that we knew how much he cared for us. He always put others first. He had a kind heart but knew when to be assertive. Javier was highly admired by everyone in his family; an example for all his nieces and nephews. He truly was a man who lived live to the fullest, was honest, hardworking and generous; deeply loved his family and friends.

We hope to continue to honor our beloved Javier by exhibiting the qualities he possessed. Javier-we will never forget you. Your family will continue to live how you would have wanted us to live. We will live to make you proud. We know that you are in heaven and our hearts will continue to ache until we are reunited.

Javier Juárez Martínez

***********************************************************************************************************************
