Martha H Crumley, “Susie” went on and completed her last mission on Monday, July 8, 2019. Mom lived her life like a navy seal on a mission to make this world a better place for her family and friends and everyone else. If mom saw that something was wrong or missing, she would always do something to change it. Mom worked for C&P Telephone Company and stayed with them through all the names changes and finally retired with 30 years of dedicated service under the name Verizon. Mom also started the Verizon Retirees Group to help the retirees stay active and to help out the active union member of the CWA2204. Mom was diagnosed with COPD and was put on oxygen in December of 2003. She wasn’t going to let oxygen slow her down. She went on to start and form The Better Breather Club to help people living with oxygen and lung diseases find ways to help them live their best lives with oxygen. Mom was always a very positive person, and the doctors always said that helped her live as long as she did. Mom also had an experimental procedure called Aspire was where they reduce the upper part of the lungs with two medication that put together made the foam and would collapse the upper part of the lungs bringing them up off of the diaphragm. Mom’s pulmonologist, Dr. Rubio, is who performed this procedure. Dr. Rubio always called mom his miracle patient. Mom loved Dr. Rubio very much and always said that he always took his time with his patients and made them feel like they were his only patient and he always knew the names and relationships of the family members who went to moms appointments with her. Left to cherish her memory is her only daughter Julia C England and husband Kelly. Martha’s best friend and sister Sheri and Randy Tuck. Martha and Sheri seemed always to know what the other was thinking. They had many adventures together and went through good times along with some very dark and hard times together as sisters. Sheri was and will always be known to Julia as Aunt Sheri. Ex-husband James” Jimmy and Lois Crumley whom she remained close friends with along with his family. Grandchildren Matthew “ Desirea” England and Amber England Shelor ”Nic.” Great-grandchildren Oliviamae and Cole. The family would like to especially thank Dr. Rubio, who was like family to Martha and her daughter. Thank you for taking such excellent care of my mom for me. Martha was preceded in death by her brother James F Haworth and mother and father Bob and Maria Haworth. To honor Martha’s memory memorials can be made to Huntington Court United Methodist Church
