Carlos Alberto Monteiro Da Silva, 62, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020 at University Hospital, Newark, NJ. He was born in Sao Romao, Seia, Portugal and came the United States in 1977 and was residing in Union, NJ. Carlos was the Owner of Estrela da Ponderosa Restaurant of Newark, NJ since 1987. Beloved husband of Emilia Maria Marques (nee Isidro) Da Silva; devoted and loving father of Miguel Da Silva, Carla Da Silva and her husband Diogo Marques; cherished grandfather of Milah Da Silva and Ezra Joaquim Da Silva Marques. Visitation for Carlos will be held on Monday, November 30th from 5 pm - 8 pm at the Buyus Funeral Home, 426 Lafayette St., at Wilson Ave, Newark, NJ 07105. Interment Portugal. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital www.stjude.org would be graciously appreciated. Due to the restrictions recently placed on occupancy in public spaces by the State of New Jersey in the ongoing efforts to limit the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Carlos’s funeral arrangements are limited. Even during times of social distancing, anyone who has suffered a loss deserves love and support more than ever before.
