<p>Wilson Victor Serra, 93, of Vinton, VA, went to be with his Lord on Friday, November 3, 2017. His loving wife of 69 years, Audrey, was with him at the time of his death. Born in Bluefield, WV on January 10, 1924, he was the son of the late Alessandro Serra and Cora Hunt Serra. In addition to his parents, Wilson was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank, George, Richard and Columbus; and one sister, Julia. Wilson proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII. He retired as an electrical foreman from Bethlehem Steel in Baltimore, MD and moved to Vinton, VA in 1982. He and Audrey became members of Blue Ridge Baptist Church on Hardy Road in 1995. Wilson is survived by his wife, Audrey Church Serra; his sister, Loretta (Sis) Serra; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice, Blue Ridge Baptist Church and many family members and friends for their loving support during this difficult time. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon, Monday, November 6, 2017 at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel with Pastor Tommy Hurt. Interment will follow at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel.
