<p>Ruth Estelle Keene Mullins, age 86, passed away on April 1, 2019 in Roanoke, VA. Ruth was born October 18, 1932 in Oakwood on the Garden in Buchanan County, Virginia the tenth and youngest child of the late Harrison M. and Rosa McGlothlin Keene. She was a graduate of Garden High School. Ruth was a former resident of Emory, Virginia, Hazard, Kentucky, Abingdon, Virginia and Hampton, Virginia where she retired in management from both Miller and Rhoades and Thalhimers department stores. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Roanoke, Virginia. She is survived by her daughter Penny Ruth Mullins O’Brien and husband Michael B. of Roanoke; granddaughters Jennifer Lyn O’Brien and spouse Helen Heinemann of Thorndale, Pennsylvania; Katherine O’Brien Zimmerman and husband Matthew H. of Roanoke; great granddaughters Estella Gray Blackwell, Charleigh Mae Zimmerman, Maisy Grace Zimmerman and Leah Blake Zimmerman all of Roanoke; one sister Lorraine Keene Williams of Brookneal and Richmond, Virginia; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Wesley Harrison Mullins, and eight siblings, Earl Keene, Myrtle Deskins, Nell Holt, Clarence (Shorty) Keene, Pearl Belcher, Ruby Angles, Jesse Fore and James Keene.
