<p>Willie Ruth Thompson was born July 20, 1950 to the late Willie M. and Annie R. Thompson Sr.</p><p>in Fayetteville, NC. The family moved to Newburgh, NY where Willie graduated from Newburgh</p><p>Free Academy high school in 1968 where she played sports and became a star in track and</p><p>field for Glen Hines Boys and Girls Club in Newburgh. She held number one for 50 years until</p><p>someone beat her record in 2018. Willie was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in</p><p>Newburgh and she worked for IBM as a Custom Engineer.</p><p>She later moved to Spring Valley N.Y. where she worked at Edwin Gould Academy and other</p><p>jobs.</p><p>She leaves to mourn her, one son Darren D. Moody, NYC two sisters Ester M. Hayes of</p><p>Spokane,WA and Saundra D. Lanier of West Palm Beach, FL and one brother Willie M.</p><p>Thompson Jr. of Spring Valley, NY, four grandchildren, Kenneth D. Moody, Justin K. Moody,</p><p>Amanda M. Moody, Darren A. Moody and one great granddaughter Grace G. Moody, one aunt</p><p>Reverend Mrs. Ida M. Jones, Fayetteville, NC and one uncle, Clifford Ellerby, Raleigh, NC plus</p><p>a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.</p>July 20, 1950 - June 6, 202007/20/195006/06/2020
