<p>Frances Marie Scandrett, 86, of Independence, Iowa died Monday at the Buchanan County Health Center, Independence, Iowa. </p><p><br></p><p>Frances was born on September 8, 1925, in Wessington Springs, South Dakota the daughter of William E. and Lula M. (Garrison) Scandrett. The family moved to the Winthrop, Iowa area in 1937. Frances attended the East Buchanan School. She was employed at the Red Rooster Café in Independence, and did babysitting. </p><p><br></p><p>She is survived by a sister; Opal (Howard) Lyons, Gaithersburg, MD., and a brother Warren Scandrett, Colorado, Springs, CO., with one niece and three nephews. Since 1994 Frances has been cared for by B & D Services and for the last ten years with Barbara Ford as her roommate. She faithfully attended Hope Wesleyan Church since 1937.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday November 7, 2011 at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, IA with Rev. Warren Scandrett, officiating. Inurnment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Winthrop, Iowa.
