<p>Judy K. Cashner, 70, of Winthrop, Iowa died Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester, Iowa</p><p><br></p><p>Judy was born on July 22, 1942, in Independence, Iowa the daughter of Chester H. and Eleanor E. (Stewart) Behrens. She graduated from the Independence High School, and received a BS of Education degree from the Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, IA. She began teaching for the Traer Schools in Traer, Iowa. On July 25, 1965 she was united in marriage to Burton Robert Cashner in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Independence, IA. The couple farmed near Winthrop, Iowa and Judy taught school in the Independence Community Schools. She later returned to college and received a Master of Education from the University of Northern Iowa. In recent years Judy was employed as a legal secretary for the Ken Martinson Law Firm, for A Friend of the Court, and for the Department of Human Services in Cedar Rapids, IA., until her retirement in 2001</p><p><br></p><p>She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, the GBA Club, and the King’s Daughters. </p><p><br></p><p>Judy is survived by her husband, Burton Robert Cashner, Winthrop, IA., three children; Robert (Olivia) Cashner, Wilsall, MT., Catharine Cashner, Cedar Rapids, IA., and Benjamin (Angela) Cashner, Monticello, IA., two grandchildren; Benjamin and Collin Cashner, a sister; Christina Schnepf, Independence, IA., and two brothers; Roy Behrens, Dysart, IA., and Richard Behrens, Independence, IA. </p><p><br></p><p>She was preceded in death by her parents. </p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Independence, Iowa, with Rev. Kurt Bockoven officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Independence, IA. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. Friday at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, Iowa and from 9 A.M. till services Saturday at the church. </p><p><br></p><p>In Lieu of flowers memorial may be directed to the Judy K.
