<p>Don C. Holmes, 81, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2012 in a local hospital. He was born on July 1, 1930 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to John and Mildred Holmes. He was retired from Phillips Petroleum and a member of Harvest Time Tabernacle and attending Living Word Church in Van Buren, Arkansas. He was a devoted organizer of his High School Class reunions which is known as the “Nifty Fifties” and was a member of Gideon International. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services are 2:00PM Tuesday, May 22, 2012 in Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel officiated by his brother in law Reverend George Lynn. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his wife of 61 years Mary Lynn Holmes of the home, his sister Paula Evans of Hackett, Arkansas, one brother Ray Lee Holmes of Altamonte Springs, Florida and many other in-laws, nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>Pallbearers will be his nephews, Jimmy Don Holmes, Gary Featherstone, Mark Lynn, Doug Huber, Gale Rainwater and Paul Rainwater.</p><p><br></p><p>The family will visit with friends from 5-7 PM on Monday evening at the funeral home.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorials may be made at Living Word Church 1445 Clyde Cate Road Van Buren, Arkansas 72956</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>July 1, 1930 - May 19, 201207/01/193005/19/2012
