<p>Mrs. Irma Adams, age 86 years, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 19, 2012 in Pinewood Court. </p><p><br></p><p>Born in Port Arthur on June 8, 1925, Irma served with the WREN's during World War II. She married Gordon Adams on November 24, 1950 and together they raised their family. Irma worked as an executive secretary at the Lakehead Board of Education until her retirement in 1988. She was a Past -President of the Kinette Club of Port Arthur, and a member of the Ex-WREN's Naval Association. Irma enjoyed her home, summer cottage at Island Lake and sharing activities with her grandsons. She also enjoyed travel, accompanying her husband on CESO projects in Thailand, Indonesia, Chile and China. Irma and Gordon wintered in Safety Harbour, Florida for twenty-two years.</p><p><br></p><p>Survived by her husband Gordon, son Brian (Denise) and grandsons Brian Jr., Mark and Joel Adams all of Thunder Bay, daughter Janet Dickin (John) of Earls Cove, British Columbia, brother-in-law John K. (Jean) Adams and sister-in-law Mary Cardwell both of Toronto. </p><p><br></p><p>Predeceased by her parents Eino and Maija Waara.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services for the late Mrs. Irma Adams will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley St. at Algoma with Rev. Kerry McLaughlin officiating. A Private interment will take place at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Diabetes Health Thunder Bay. </p>
