<p>Connell, Mary Madeline</p><p>Died peacefully on Tuesday January 21, 2014 at the Stayner Nursing Home in her 99th year. Mary of Stayner, loving mother of Lorraine and her husband Pete Fast. Dear grandmother of Kelley, David (Lisa), Ron and Lori Fast. Also survived by her sister-in-law Jean Connell and her many nieces and nephews. Mary is predeceased by her brothers Johnnie, Jim and Joe and her sisters Alice, Ethel and Gertrude. Mary was a long time employee of Besse’s Dairy for over 34 years, working under three generations of the family. She was a faithful woman who was deeply committed to her church. Knitting and crocheting were her favourite pastime along with skating, curling, bowling and playing cards with her many friends. Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel, 7313 Highway b26, Stayner on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 215 Pine Street, Stayner on Friday , time to be confirmed. Spring interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Remembrances to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by Mary’s family.
