Lynda J. Espy, age 71, of Wooster, entered into rest, Saturday, January 28, 2017 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster. She was surrounded by her family. She was born on November 3, 1945 in Wadsworth to Maurice F. and Ruth E. (Steffee) Knecht. She had attended Kenmore High School before graduating from South High School in Akron.Lynda then graduated from the Akron School of Practical Nursing in 1965. She married Donald I. Espy on July 31, 1964. He entered into rest on August 23, 2002. She has been an area resident in the Wayne County area for over 40 years. She worked as an L.P.N. (Licensed Practical Nurse) for over 20 years; also volunteered for area hospitals and mostly loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter's family, Elaine, Palmer, Jessica, Destiny, Cameron and Conner Fletty all of Wooster; a sister, MaryLou Newton & Family of Akron; and her canine buddy, "Bootsy". In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, Brian Knecht who entered into rest in 1997. Services will be Saturday 11:00 a.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster with Pastor Jack Westfall officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services ( 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.) at the funeral home. A private interment will take place at the convenience of the family at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
