<p>Alfredo Cristofaro, 81, of Oakhurst, died on Wednesday, May 31, 2017.</p><p>He was born in Girifalco, Calabria, Italy and came to this country in 1971 living in Long Branch before moving to Oakhurst 40 years ago.</p><p>He was a member of the Figli di Colombo and the Amerigo Vespucci, both in Long Branch.</p><p>Alfredo was a cabinet and furniture maker by trade. Later, he worked for the NJ Department of Transportation before retiring.</p><p>He was predeceased by his parents, Colombo and Giovanna Cristofaro and a brother and sister-in-law, Antonio and Barbara Cristofaro.</p><p>Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Rosa; daughter, Giovanna Cristofaro and 2 grandchildren, Giovanna Rosa Cristofaro-Givens and Jonathan Latroy Givens, Jr.</p><p>Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-4 &amp; 6-9 pm on Monday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral Tuesday at 8:30 am from the funeral home followed by a 10 am Funeral Mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Long Branch. Entombment will be at Woodbine Mausoleum in Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. For condolences, please visit www.fiorefuneralhomes.com.</p>
