Marie Joan Musser of New Lisbon, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the A.O. Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta. She was 80 years old. Born on September 6, 1935 in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Alexander Newransky from Austria, and Anna (Chmiel) Newransky from Austria. Marie and her loving husband, the late Alexander Joseph Musser, Sr. of Mount Vision were married for 51 years. They were married on August 10, 1963, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morris. She is survived by her seven children Anne Marie Ellingham and her husband, Steve, of Rochester, Margaret Musser Bunnell and her husband, Ron, of Purcellville, Va., Kevin Musser and Teri Plows, of Burlington Flats, NY, Alex Musser Jr. of Oneonta, Meredith Malone and Tony Espinoza, of Pottstown, Pa., Alison Kephart and her husband, John, of Alexandria, Va., and Nicole McLean and her husband, Mark, of Orange Beach, Al.; her five grandchildren Kevin Musser Jr., Coral and Kayla, McLean, and Brady and Cole Plows; special children are Ellen Cobb and family, Tanya Barton and family, Sean Kirk and family, and Trista Rood and family; three neices Susan (Musser) Hotaling, Sally (Musser) Wilson, and Vicki Goldstein; two nephews Tad Goldstein and his family and Val Goldstein and his family. She was predeceased by her husband Alexander Joseph Musser, Sr., her parents, Alexander Newransky and his wife, Anna (Chmiel), of new Lisbon, Helen (Pierce) Musser of Saratoga Springs, and Jerome Goldstein and his wife, Olga (Batnick), of Mineola (Marie's half sister). Marie was a home maker, foster mother, home health aide and dairy farmer with her husband for most of her life at the eight-sided barn just outside of Garrattsville. She and her husband not only raised their own children, but opened their home to almost 50 foster children ranging from newborns to senior teens. Friends may call from 1000 to 1100 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the narthyx of the Holy Cross Church, on Main Street in Morris, before the service. Funeral Services will be held at 1100 a.m. on Saturday. Our celebrant will be Father David Mickiewicz. The burial will be at Hillington Cemetery, Morris. Following the burial, family and friends will gather for a reception in the church parish hall. Memorial Contributions may be made to the A.O. Fox Nursing Home, 1 Norton Ave., Oneonta, N.Y. 13820.
