Darlene M. Burke, 91 of Mendota passed away December 17, 2019 at the Mendota Lutheran Home surrounded by her loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 10:30am in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Peterstown. Rev. Peter Pilon will officiate. Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, December 20, 2019 from 3-7pm in Schwarz Funeral Home. Darlene was born in Mendota on October 18, 1928 to John J. and Angeline (Metzen) Happ. She married Francis Burke on February 14, 1953 in Peterstown, Darlene was a Homemaker and a member of the H.E.A. Home Extension, the Altar and Rosary Society, and Sts. Peter and Paul Church. She is survived by: 2 sons: Thomas (Cathy) Burke of Mendota and Roger (Martha) Burke of Mendota; 7 daughters: Pamela (Greg) Donoho of Fulton, Il., Eileen (William) Twardowski of Peru, Diane Spiegel of Peru, Nancy (Frank) Brodko of Mendota, Janice (Steve) Nowlin of Mendota, Beverly (James) Wallery of The Woodlands, Tx., and Barbara (George) Needs of Peru; 23 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren-with one on the way; and one sister: Lucille Stadel of Henry. Darlene was preceded in death by her husband Frank 6/7/2011, 3 brothers and 5 sisters. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Adam and Steve Brodko, Tony Burke, Brandon, Eric and Ryan Donoho, Nick Needs, Josh Nowlin, Jacob Spiegel, Jeff Twardowski and Joe Wallery.
