Robert Kidwell age 78 of Richmond, husband of Shirley Abney Kidwell, passed away peacefully Friday Dec. 13, 2019 at his home with his family. Robert worked for Uncle Charlies Meats for 44 years, and he loved working on antique cars. Robert was born in Rockcastle County to the late Roy Cecil and Irma Mae Leger Kidwell, he was also preceded in death by a daughter Jennifer Kay Kidwell and a sister Mary Jane Merritt. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Shirley Abney Kidwell, his children: Lisa King, Sheila (David) Denson, Donna (Dale) Ragle, and Charles Kidwell, his sister Cecilia (Eli) Williams, and special friend Kathy Lyons, and 7 grandchildren: Jason King, Kristie (Matt) Holbert, Brad (Erin) King, Cody Denson, Sidney (Josh) Francis, Courtney Kidwell, and Chaz Kidwell, and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday Dec. 17, 2019 at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Greg King officiating. Pallbearers will be Jason King, Brad King, Cody Denson, Chaz Kidwell, Matt Holbert, Kristopher Holbert, and Dylan King, honorary pallbearers will be past and present employees of Uncle Charlies Meats, David Denson, Dale Ragle, and Kathy Lyons. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Rockcastle County. Visitation will be Monday from 6-9 pm at Lakes Funeral Home.
