Gloria J. (Hartigan) Olszewski
Gloria J. (Hartigan) Olszewski, 78, of Willimantic, CT, died peacefully at home on October 31, 2015. Gloria was born on June 5, 1937 in Willimantic to the late Charles and Alice (Wheeler) Hartigan. She was predeceased in marriage to Stanley T. Olszewski and retired from the University of Connecticut in 2003 after 27 years of employment. Gloria enjoyed spending time with family, vacationing at Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, celebrating holidays, horse racing, and watching UCONN Women's Basketball. Gloria was especially proud of her Irish heritage. Gloria is survived by her son Stanley T. Olszewski, Jr. and wife Alison Deeb of Morristown, NJ; daughter Lynn O’Heron, and husband Paul, of Torrington; and son John Olszewski of Willimantic; three grandchildren, Kelly, Danny and Christopher O’Heron of Torrington; sisters Betty Cone of Tamarac, FL and Helen Rice of Groton, CT and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Tracie, Lindsay and Angela for their care and kindness over the past year. Her family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday, 11/4/15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic, CT. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 11/5/15, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Jackson St. Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd. Windham.
