Karen Sue Zambelli Obituary

Karen Sue Leary Zambelli, age 68 years, a former resident of Scott Lake Road, Beverly, WV and more recently a resident of Dailey, WV departed this life Thursday evening, December 12, 2019 at her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family and under the care of WV Hospice. She had been in declining health. She was born Thursday, November 29, 1951 at Clarksburg, WV a daughter of the late Delbert Lee Leary, Sr. and Betsy Lou Ramsey Leary. On March 9, 1996 at Montrose, WV she was married to Christopher Paul Zambelli, who survives by the Rev. Gary R. Phillips. Also surviving are four sons, Emery Isenhart of Elkins, Ricky Chilgren, Donald Joe Chilgren, and Jasper Chilgren all of Beverly; two daughters, Sandra Youtzy of West Columbia, and Kimberly Eagle and husband Jimmy of East Dailey; four sisters, Sylvia Harris of Wooster, OH, Betsy Scott of Beverly, Dettie Scott of Elkins, and Betty Isenhart of Elkins; and one half-sister, Patricia of Clarksburg; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are one son, Carl Nick Chilgren; two daughters, Karen Ann Chilgren; and Carolyn Sue Fultz; and numerous brothers. Karen attended the schools of Elkins, and performed with her husband at several events and later performed with her husband and her sister, Betsy “Monk”. She enjoyed painting pictures and ceramic materials, made things with fabric, and loved singing, especially gospel music having sung years ago alongside her husband with Jim & Ralph Kerens, and Bob and Ann Baer at local nursing homes and churches. The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 4 to 7 PM, Tuesday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 11 AM. The Rev. Joe Palmer and the Pastor Diana Ogden will officiate and interment will follow at the Elkins Memorial Gardens on the Country Club Road, Elkins, WV.
