Bonnie Eppert Obituary

Bonnie Carolyn Gardner Eppert, age 79 of Fairfax, Virginia was called home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 11, 2019. Bonnie was born on March 8, 1940 in Morgantown, WV, the youngest daughter of the late Sigel Ona Gardner and Fern Lucy Thralls Gardner. Bonnie grew up in Morgantown with her two sisters who predeceased her, Wanda Rose Gardner and Willa Iris Gardner. After graduating from Morgantown High School, Bonnie enrolled in West Virginia University as a journalism student and remained a lifelong Mountaineer fan. Bonnie worked at the registrar’s office at WVU and helped to care for her father and mother at home. Bonnie met Charles “Chuck” at the First Baptist Church Morgantown on High Street where they fell in love and were married April 21, 1962. After marrying, the two moved to Chuck’s hometown of Dunbar, WV. It was in Dunbar that Bonnie and Chuck had two daughters Debbie and Susan. In 1974, the family moved to Northern Virginia where Bonnie and Chuck became active members of the Ox Hill Baptist Church. In 1978, Bonnie and other women from the church formed Ox Hill Baptist Mother’s Day Out program where she worked for 30 years caring for babies and preschoolers. While at Ox Hill Baptist, Bonnie and Chuck worked with the youth group, youth and adult choirs, men’s chorus, and countless other committees. In most recent years the two were very involved in a group of church friends called the Silver Threads. Bonnie devoted herself to loving, caring and helping others; if you needed help, she was always there. She has always been deeply loved and will always be deeply missed and loved forever, by her family and friends. Survivors include her husband Chuck who is a resident at Arbor Terrace Sudley Manor, daughter Debra E. Davis-Lamb and her husband James Lamb, daughter Susan C. Eppert and her partner Christian Knoster; four grandchildren, Andy Davis and his wife Shana Davis, Phillip Lamb, Megan Ossenfort, Will Ossenfort and a great-grandchild Isaiah Lamb. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the Ox Hill Baptist Church, 4101 Elmwood Street, Chantilly, VA 20151. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary with Rev. Brad Boberg officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Stonewall Memory Gardens, 12004 Lee Highway, Manassas, VA.
