JOHNNY MARSHALL JOHNSON A Service of Witness to the Resurrection for Johnny Marshall Johnson, 72, of Kilgore will be held at 2 pm on Monday, December 16, 2019, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Interment will follow in Kilgore Memorial Gardens. Reverend Will Wilson will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 pm until 2 pm prior to the service on Monday. Mr. Johnson completed his earthly journey in his home on Thursday, December 12, 2019. Johnny was born in Henderson, on March 26, 1947 to Marshall and Evelyn Johnson. He graduated from Kilgore High School in 1966. Being a true patriot and American, he dutifully and faithfully served his country in the United States Army. Johnny received an Associates of Business from Kilgore College and his Bachelor of Business from East Texas State in Commerce. He was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church in Kilgore. After 30 years of working for the Texas Workforce Commission he was able to retire and enjoy his many hobbies. He enjoyed being outdoors, golfing, camping, fishing and hunting or “watching” as he called it. Being a music lover all genres, he really enjoyed riding around with friends or by himself and listening to whatever music appealed to him that day. Johnny’s family, especially his grand and great grandchildren, were the source of his strength and spending time with them was when he was happiest. Left to cherish his memory includes his wife, of 34 years, Judy Johnson of Kilgore; daughters, Vickie Chancellor of Tyler, Angie Carnes and husband Keith of Elkhart, Kristie Jo Wilson of Tuscaloosa, AL; grandchildren, Michael McKinney of Chandler, Mitchell McKinney of Chandler, James Allen Chancellor of Tyler, Tiffanee Burns and husband Anthony of Whitehouse, Bradon Fuller of Tyler, Jodi Wilson of Tuscaloosa, AL, Anna Kate Wilson of Tuscaloosa, AL and eight great grandchildren. Also, left to carry on his legacy are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other loving family members. The Johnson family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Heart to Heart Hospice for their loving and compassionate care of Johnny during the final days of his earthly journey.
