Erma Dean Higginbottom, 86, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019. Erma was born on January 10, 1933, in Morley, Missouri, to Earl and Alvis Milam Nelson. Erma was a member of the Church of Christ. Erma is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Alvis Milam Nelson; brother, Robert Nelson; sisters, Dorothy Meredith and Wilma Choate; and great granddaughter, Saleen Stinson. Survivors include, son, Carlos (Carletta) Higginbottom, of Kouts, Indiana; two daughters, LaDonna Stinson, of Jonesboro, and De Ette (DeVon) Skinner, of Paragould; grandchildren, Sarah (Jon) Beck, Craig (Amber) Higginbottom, Dusty (Hannah) Stinson, Derrick (Carletta) Stinson, DeVon “Hoss” Skinner Jr., and Del Ray “Bubba” (Candice) Skinner; and great grandchildren, Dillyn, River, Starlie, Zane, Ella, Emmy Lou, Cheewan, Noah, Cason, Caleb, A.J., Aiden, Eli, Evan, Carrick, Caitlyn, Caroline, Ellison, and Dorian. All services will be held in the chapel of the Fears Family Funeral Home, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, on Sunday, December 15, 2019. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm. Erma’s funeral service will immediately follow, beginning at 1:00 pm; Jon Fears, officiating. Burial will follow in the Brockett Cemetery, near Stokes. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Dusty Stinson, Derrick Stinson, Hoss Skinner, Bubba Skinner, Craig Higginbottom, and Jon Beck.
