Maryann Bonner Stayton, Oregon Obituary

Maryann Bonner

Mary Ann was born on March 11, 1933 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Axsel and Mary Ann (Hall) Sande. She came to Oregon in 1974 after her husband at the time was discharged from the military. Mary Ann would raise her two sons, William and Anthoney in the Pacific Northwest. Mary Ann would live in Silverton, Salem, LaPine and Florence. While in Oregon she worked as a registered nurse, which was perfect for her take charge personality. She also worked for the State of Oregon as an inspector in addition to the LaPine Chamber of Commerce. Eventually, Mary Ann would move back to Ohio and return to Oregon seven years ago. Known to many as ‘Red’ because of her pretty red hair, Mary Ann could be described as fiery too. She was also a devoted mother and grandmother. She also was a wonderful mom to many of her boys' friends and kept an open heart and open door to her home. She had a big heart and would take time to volunteer at schools and read to children. She also loved to sing and watch Dancing with the Stars. Her favorite sports team was the Cleveland Browns and when they won their football game last Sunday, Mary Ann was happy about that.  After several years of being sick, Mary Anny passed away gracefully and peacefully at age 86 on December 12, 2019 in Salem, Oregon. She will always be remembered for the love she had for her sons and grandchildren.  She is survived by sons, William (Connie) Bonner and Anthoney Bonner; step son, Christopher (Becky) Bonner; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.  Private family memorial services will be held.
