George William "Bill" Schute

LaVale, MD – George William “Bill” Schute, 81, of LaVale, MD, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.  Born October 19, 1938, in Cumberland, MD, Mr. Schute was the son of the late William L. Schute and Walburga E. (Kastner) Schute.  A graduate of LaSalle High School, Bill was a United States Air Force Veteran and retired from CSX Railroad. At one time, he liked to bowl and play golf.  Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years: Nancy Schute; his daughter: Lisa Hensley and husband, Todd; and his grandsons: Matthew and Chad Hensley. He also leaves behind his brother: James Schute and wife, Doris: his sister: Rita DeTaranto; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Monday, December 16, 2019, from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 P.M.  Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.  Interment will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap at a later date.  The family would like to give a special thank you to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for all the care and compassion given to Bill as well as to the family.
