Mary C. Rainsford

Mary C. (Coyle) Rainsford passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 16, 2016, surrounded by her loving family at her residence in King of Prussia, PA. She was 91. Mrs. Rainsford was a founding member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia. She worked for the Arco Chemical Co. in Philadelphia while her husband was in the military serving overseas. Mary then became a ‘Master Mom’ homemaker, who volunteered at Sacred Heart Hospital Gift Shop and MDP’s School Library. She was an avid Phillies fan, enjoyed reading, loved history and big band music. Ocean City, NJ was Mary’s second home and she enjoyed sitting on the beach reading and traveling the world through her books. Mary was known for her Irish wit. She loved having her family around her, but most of all she loved spending time with her husband. Born in Philadelphia, PA on December 8, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Anna (McGee) Coyle of County Donegal, Ireland. Surviving is her loving family including her husband of almost 72 years, Victor E. Rainsford; her 10 children: Ann Rainsford, Patricia (Francis Morrone) Rainsford, Mary (William) Eads, Edward Rainsford, David (Annie) Rainsford, Virginia Rainsford, Victoria (James) Malloy, Michael (Lisa) Rainsford, Christine (Jack) Buddy, Victor P. (Laura) Rainsford; 17 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kayla M. Buddy, her brother, Jack Coyle, and her sister, Nancy Parker. Relatives & friends are invited to Mary’s Funeral Mass at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 10:30 am. Officiating will be Msgr. Joseph Murray. Her viewings are Wednesday evening from 6 to 8:00 pm and Thursday morning from 9 to 10:15 am, both at the church. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406 and/or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Rd., Second Floor, Bethesda, MD 20814.
