CHATHAM, Elizabeth Mitchell Inge, age 79, of Chatham, entered into rest on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at her residence in Chatham. She was born on September 10. 1940, in Pittsylvania County, the daughter of the late Hugh Thomas Mitchell and the late Frances Amos Mitchell. She is survived by her husband, John Richard Inge. She was a lifelong member of Marion Baptist Church and attended Sheva Church of Christ. She owned and operated Elbridge G. Coles Insurance Agency in Chatham for many years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four brothers, George Leon Mitchell, Roger Lee Mitchell, Hugh Thomas Mitchell, Jr. and his wife Sandy, and Godfrey Thomas Mitchell and his wife Christine; four nephews, Thomas Scott Mitchell, John Brandon Mitchell, Christian Lee Mitchell, Thomas Logan Mitchell; two nieces, Lisa Mitchell Shorter, Machelle Mitchell Myers; and two great-nieces, Victoria Shorter, Lauren Myers. Funeral services will be conducted at Sheva Church of Christ on Friday December 13, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Ron Voss and Rev. Freddy Vick officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Burial Park. The family will receive friends at Sheva Church of Christ on Thursday December 12, 2019 from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm and at other times will be at the residence of Hugh and Sandy Mitchell, 145 Afton Rd. Danville, VA 24540, rather than the home Mr. and Mrs. Inge. The family would like to extend special thanks to her special caregivers, Millie Hall, Lou Harris, Tina Strauss, Treva Colenda, and Janelle Gammon, as well as the wonderful, caring staff of Commonwealth Hospice.
