Dwayne D. Dethlefs, 60, a resident of the Vernonia community, died Friday morning, December 6, 2019 at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019, from 2:00 to 4:30 P.M. at Cedar Ridge, 18062 Keasey Road in Vernonia. DWAYNE DEAN DETHLEFS was born December 29, 1958 in Hillsboro, Oregon, the son of Harve R. Dethlefs and Shirley J. (Davis) Stevens. He was raised and received his education in Forest Grove, Oregon. He had worked as a timber faller in the logging industry in Oregon, Washington and Alaska for many years. Among his special interests, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his father and step-mother, Harve and Lory Dethlefs, of Forest Grove, Oregon; his mother and step-father, Shirley and Leroy Stevens, of Forest Grove, Oregon; his son and daughter-in-law, Dustin and Jennifer Dethlefs, of Ketchikan, Alaska; his daughter, Jessie Dethlefs, of Vader, Washington and his four siblings and their spouses, Dean and Richell Dethlefs, of Vernonia, Oregon; Shyla and Clayton Creasey, of Forest Grove, Oregon; Denise Dethlefs and Rueben Trevino, of Timber, Oregon and Daniel Dethlefs, of Banks, Oregon. Also surviving are his four grandchildren; Dawson; Deklynd; Braelynn; and Timberlynn. His one niece, Shelby; and five nephews; Dillon; Tyler; Tristan, Dawson and Dallas.
