Frank R. Borkowicz, age 91, a resident of Eagle River, WI for over 30 years, died on Friday April 15, 2016 at his home. Frank was born in Milwaukee, WI on August 31, 1924 to Richard and Barbara Borkowicz. He graduated from Pulaski High School in Milwaukee, WI. Frank served in the US Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater, specifically New Guinea and the Philippines. He married Dorothy Adamski on February 8, 1947 in Milwaukee, WI. Frank worked as an Engineer for the Milwaukee Public School System for many years. He served as Vice President for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 950 Milwaukee School Board and as the President of the Muskellunge Lake Association. He was a member of AMVETS Memorial post 60 in Milwaukee, WI and a member of the Eagle River Prime Timers. Frank served as an usher at S.S. Cyril and Methodius Church in Milwaukee, WI for over 20 years. He also volunteered his time as a Boy Scout leader in Milwaukee, WI and a driver for the Commission on Aging in Eagle River, WI. Frank was a very attentive neighbor, always assisting with cutting lawns, house projects or wherever else he was needed. Frank is survived by his wife of 69 years: Dorothy Borkowicz of Eagle River, WI; son: Ron (Jeanne) Borkowicz of Appleton, WI daughter: Geri (Jeff) Ulatowski of Clover, SC;; 4 grandsons; and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday April 23, 2016 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Eagle River, WI. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to services at the church. A memorial service will also be held in Milwaukee, WI at a later date.
