John Charles Sabatino, 74, of Manahawkin, died on December 6, 2019. Funeral Services will begin on Friday, December 13, 2019 9:30 am from Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove, NJ 07009. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Cedar Grove, NJ with interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Church, Montclair, NJ. Born and raised in Newark, he lived in Bloomfield and settled in Manahawkin. Prior to his retirement, he was a Teamsters Local 408 truck driver for Jaeger Lumber in Union. He was a member of the Eighth Ward Non-Partisan Club in Newark and the Lacey Township Elks Lodge 2518. Pre-deceased by his parents, Charles and Angie Sabatino; his wife, Judy Bud (nee Winters) Sabatino, and his niece, Donna Marie Sabatino. Surviving is his devoted brother, Joseph Sabatino, and his wife Carla; loving nieces, Debbie D'Anthony (Steve) and Angela Loria (Tony); cherished great nieces and nephews, Joseph Riccardi, Hailey Berher (Kyle), and Gus Loria. John also leaves behind several Godchildren and a host lifelong friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, stjude.org.
