Norman Frank Newman, 60, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2019 in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born in Fort Wayne to William and Carol Newman. Norm graduated from IU-Bloomington and was a proud fraternity brother of Phi Delta Theta. He worked as the assistant director of financial aid at IPFW, later becoming the director of financial aid at Ivy Tech Community College. Prior to his university experiences he worked in the hospitality industry. Norm was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Fort Wayne. Norm is survived by his wife, Robin Newman of Fort Wayne; daughters, Jordyn (Ben) Hogan of Fort Wayne, Collyn (Neil) Allen of Fishers, IN, and Maddy Newman of Fort Wayne; 3 grandchildren, Georgia, Frank, and Cecilia; mother, Carol Newman of Fort Wayne; siblings, Rose Newman Clevenger, John Newman, Steve (Connie) Newman, and Matthew Newman. He was preceded in death by his father, William Newman; sister, Carmella Newman; and brother-in-law, Larry Clevenger. We will be gathering on Saturday, January 4, 2020 to celebrate his life at 7:00 pm with calling one hour prior at Purdue Fort Wayne in the Walb's Student Union Classic Ballroom, 2101 E. Coliseum Blvd. Fort Wayne, IN 46805. A reception will follow at 8:00 pm. Please use parking garage 2, directly off of Crescent Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cancer Services of N.E.
