William Bailey "Bill" Allin

William Bailey “Bill” Allin, 72, resident of 502 McDaniel Ave., Greenville, husband of Hazel Burnett Allin, died Friday, December 6, 2019 at his home. Born in Lynbrook, NY, he was the son of the late Alfred and Lily Hanson Allin. Bill was a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University and attended Pace University School of Law. He began his banking career with the Bank of New York before relocating to Greenwood where he founded Greenwood Capital Associates. He later co-founded Dividend Asset Capital in Ridgeland, SC. A member of Church of Resurrection in Greenwood, Bill was also a former member of the Greenwood Rotary Club and formerly served on the Boards of the Self Family Foundation, Countybank, Lander University and the Arts Center of Costal Carolina in Hilton Head, SC. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are his son, William B. Allin, Jr. and wife Kristin and a daughter Keri A. Allin, all of Atlanta; four grandchildren, William B. Allin, III, Van Hewitt Allin, Jagger Edwards and Edie Edwards; a step-son, Trent N. Spearman of Powdersville and his son, Keffer Cromer Spearman. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 pm Sunday at Oakbrook Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Nicholas Beasley and Rev. Mary Balfour Dunlap officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Memorials may be made to Greenwood Genetic Center, 106 Gregor Medel Circle, Greenwood, SC 29646 or to Crossnore School & Children’s Home, 100 Dar Drive, Crossnore, NC 28616.
