Veda Davis Miller, 93, of Decatur went home to the Lord, Thursday, December 5,2019 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a lifelong resident of Decatur (Meigs County) and was a daughter of the late Sam H. and Maggie Lee Davis. She was also preceded in death by her dear husband of 68 years, Fred F. Miller, her siblings Herman Davis, Tula Scroggins, Ina Lockmiller, Sam Davis, Jr., Sue Land, Mildred Ray and Kenneth Davis. She was a 1945 graduate of Meigs County High School and was a member of Decatur United Methodist Church and former active member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Kathy Miller, grandchildren, Stephanie and Rusty Smith, Marie and Chris Whitted, great-grandchildren, Halie and Tyler Bidwell, Katie Whitted and Raylan Smith, and great-great grandson, Blaine Bidwell all of Decatur. A funeral service will be conducted, 1:00 pm, Monday, December 9, 2019 at Decatur United Methodist Church with Rev. Will Conner and Rev. Hugh Bryan officiating. Interment will follow in Decatur Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am till 1:00 pm at the church prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Chris Whitted, Rusty Smith, Tyler Bidwell, Pat Miller, Jim Land, and David Ray. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Davis and Sam Breeden.
