Ralph G Foley

Ralph G. Foley was born in Omaha, NE. on September 19, 1951. He attended Corrigan Elementary School., Indian Hill & Bancroft Jr. High Schools, and Omaha South High. In high school, Ralph belonged to the Future Aviators In America Club. In conjunction with the South Omaha Airport, Ralph prepared for his flight test and soloed. In addition, his club restored a B-29 bomber with the help of Harry McCandless, a World War II bomber pilot and owner of the South Omaha Airport. The club flew the restored B-29 bomber to the Osh Kosh, Wisconsin air show, where they performed. This was a highlight of Ralph’s life. During high school, Ralphs’s eyesight became too poor to continue training as a pilot. Ralph worked for various companies in Omaha, including US Check Book and First Data Resources. He retired from FDR at age 62. Ralph became a born again Christian as a young adult, and attended various churches. He was involved in the core group that founded Overland Hills Baptist Church. Ralph loved to study Bible prophecy. Ralph’s hobbies were dogs, cats, and fishing. He loved animals and had a soft spot for the cats in his neighborhood. Additionally, Ralph was an avid reader of science and science fiction. Ralph enjoyed his nieces and nephews, and was always interested in their accomplishments. Preceded in death by father and mother, Chris & Janice Foley, brother Don Foley, and sister Patricia Foley. Survived by brother Mike Foley (Donna), sister Cathleen Foley; nieces and nephews Amy (Jim) Hay, Caleb & Lilly; Laurie Willman, Kenny Varble, Marcus Varble, & Samantha Willman; Dan (Jennifer) Foley, Joshua & Alyssa.
