Elaine E. Weaver, 71, died Wednesday, December 4, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital. She was born August 20, 1948 in Ada, Minnesota, daughter of Clarence and Arlene Urbach Gullingsrud. She married Charles H. Abentroth in 1969 in North Dakota. He died in 1993. Elaine was employed in nursing care, housekeeping and restaurant work, always providing for her family. She loved and protected her family enjoying preparing big meals and providing laughter. She loved art, painting and drawing, landscapes a specialty. Christmas was special, she didn’t have a lot but giving was more important than receiving. Survivors include: a son, Charles “Robbie” Abentroth of Hillsborough, North Dakota; a daughter, Sarah (Brian) Mitchell of Reinbeck, Iowa; three grandchildren, Lincoln, Megan and Andrew Mitchell; and a sister, Janice Yates of Moorhead, Minnesota. Services will be arranged at a later date.
