William Morrison

William “Bill” Morrison, 87, of Newville, WV was called home to be with the Lord on December 3, 2019. Bill was born in Palmer, WV to Ernie Morrison and Ora Luzader Morrison. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings Edith Morrison, Jack Morrison, and an infant brother and sister. Bill leaves behind a very large and loving family. He is survived by sons: Bobby Morrison of Huntington, Bryan Morrison and wife Barbara of Texas, Brett Morrison and wife Shirley of Sutton, and Scott Morrison and wife Kelly of Diana; daughters: Bonnie Harper and husband Mike of Heaters, and Betsy Crites and husband David of Sutton; eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Lois Gertie Morrison. Bill was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed working and took great pride in the work he completed. He was especially gifted in woodwork. In his free-time, Bill enjoyed fishing the river and hunting. Bill is a United States Army veteran. He served his country selflessly during the Korean War, earning a National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with two bronze stars, and a Combat Infantry Badge. We are forever grateful for his service. Family will receive friends on Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26221. In lieu of flowers please make donations payable to Bill’s home church: Seventh Day Adventist Church in Gassaway, WV.
