Madeleine Valerie Ames passed away December 3, 2019, at Northern Lights Medical Center, surrounded by those she loved. Madeleine was born to Donald Paradis and Sally Neal, on September 11, 1965.

She was known by her friends as Maddy or Lynn. With her larger than life personality, she was the brightest light in room and brought joy to those around her. Maddy was a devoted wife to the love of her life, Peter, a beloved mother to her four children, Sean, Ryan, Lyndsay and Kimmy, and adored Mimi.

She worked in restaurant management throughout her life starting out waiting tables at Mama Baldacci and working her way up through general management at Jimmy V’s to Bar Harbor Beer Works. She was always known as a respectful and dependable employee. Despite long work days/weeks, she always found time to be with family and friends.

She enjoyed going out to eat, music, friends and family, Christmas time, the beach, and sitting in the sunshine. Maddy found the Lord in 2014 while visiting a Church in New Jersey and later proclaimed her faith by being baptized in the ocean there. She stayed faithful while battling a crippling illness and was known for her resilience and courage.

Madeleine is survived by her husband, Peter Ames, her four children, Sean Kinch and girlfriend, Amanda Spencer, Ryan Kinch, Lyndsay and Michael Anderson, Kimmy and Joe McChesney, her five grandchildren, Braden, Killian, Jude, Adeline, and Eden, her sister, Gail, her brothers, Ernie, Louie, Jimmy, and David. She also leaves behind her dearest friends from Countryside restaurant and Bar Harbor Beerworks, and other close friends throughout her life.
