Jessica L. (Gonzalez) Shuler, 40, of Mohnton, passed into the presence of her Savior on Friday, November 22, 2019. Jess was born on October 30, 1979, in Reading, PA, and was the beloved daughter and stepdaughter of Michael D. and Rinae L. Humphrey of Mohnton, Michael A. Gonzalez of Florida, and Phyllis D. Steffy (Michael) of Churchtown. Jessica attended Wilson High School and graduated from Berks Technical Institute. She was brilliant in math and planned to pursue a bachelors degree in mathematics. Jess was adored by all who met her, and she made friends wherever she went. She was beautiful, brilliant, strong, kind, loyal, and had a wicked sense of humor. She adored her children and was a loving mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend. Some favorite pastimes included listening to stand-up comedy, reading, journaling, watching movies (particularly superhero movies), coloring and artwork to relax, and she shot a mean game of pool, but her most treasured pastimes were riding and working with horses, and spending time with her family. In the past she was employed at Serendipity Therapeutic Riding Center in Harveys Lake, and she’d hoped to become certified as a therapeutic riding instructor because this combined two of her passions - horses and helping those in need. Most recently she’d been employed as a banquet server at Sunnybrook Ballroom in Pottstown. In addition to her four parents, she is survived by her four children: Riley P. Humphrey of Mohnton; Ivy L. Bollinger of Swoope, VA; and two younger children who were privately adopted. She is also survived by three sisters: Nicole D. Stoltzfus (Stephen) of New Holland; Liana M. Humphrey (Joseph Valente) of East Earl; and Kaiti R. Miller (Isaac) of Jacksonville, NC. Grandparents James and Esther Hodgkins of Farmersville. Aunt Sharon Hodgkins, wife of Thomas Engle of Swoope, VA. Mark, Wendy, and Daniel Dorfler of Pottstown. Aunt Karen Gonzalez, wife of Tony of Bowmansville. And many other loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. A Remembrance Service will be celebrated Saturday, December 7, at 11:00am in Victory Church, 1827 Freedom Road, Lancaster, PA 17601. All are invited to attend. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
