LaVern "Ike" G. Enzenauer

LaVern “Ike” G. Enzenauer, 84, of Owatonna, died on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Pleasant Manor in Faribault. He was born on January 5, 1935 in Owatonna, the son of Harold and Mary (Grobner) Enzenauer. Ike attended high school in Owatonna. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1956 and served for one year before returning home to care for his father. Ike was honorably discharged. On March 26, 1960, he was united in marriage to Lavila Behrends in Owatonna. Ike worked for the Owatonna Canning Company for 49 ½ years until he retired in 2000. He also worked at Union 76 part time for many years. Ike was a member of the Eagle’s Club and past member of American Legion, VFW Post 3723 and AMVETS. He enjoyed watching sports including the MN Vikings, Twins and Gophers. Ike also enjoyed playing and calling Bingo, playing cards, listening to country music and going on daytrips with his wife. Ike is survived by his wife Lavila Enzenauer of Owatonna; children, Cynthia (and Lyndon) Raaum of Owatonna; Curtis Enzenauer of Owatonna and Valerie (and Paul) Ricken of Lakeville; grandsons, Joshua Raaum, Chris and Noah Ricken; and many extended family. Ike was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mary; brother, Harold Enzenauer; sisters, Gladys Ballstadt and Loraine Chesney. Memorial service will be held on December 9, 2019, at 1:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Memorials are preferred to the family or donor’s choice.
