James Dreher Obituary

James Allen Dreher, 49 passed away at home with family by his side on Sunday December 2, 2019. James was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on June 6, 1970 (three months early due to a car accident) to Jacque Sylvanus Dreher and Liza Beatrice Strong. He was a teenager when his father retired from the Army and moved the family to Pensacola, Florida. He met the Love of his life, Teresa, in 1998 and they married on April 1, 2001 where they lived happily in Milton, Florida. Most people knew him as Jimmy, but he had nicknames like “hog bait”, or “cave man” due to funny mishaps. He would help anyone that needed help especially on cars. He was a great husband, father, mechanic, singer, listener, animal lover, just an all-around great person. He loved sitting on his front porch at night and watching the deer eat corn. He was a Facebook Messenger junkie and could talk your ear off. He would talk to all animals and brought home many strays. He loved everyone and everything. He was head strong and loved life. Sadly, he lost his battle to Pancreatic Cancer. He fought as hard as he could, but his body was tired. We find comfort in knowing that he is no longer in pain and God has wrapped his arms around him. James is survived by: his loving wife of 18 years, Teresa R. Dreher; three children, Taylor Thomas (Jonathan), Kenneth Matthews (Melissa), and Krystina Brannon; grandchildren, Veronica and Nathaniel Matthews and one on the way Zoey Brannon; mother, Liza B. Dreher; one sister, Michelle Streeter; one brother, John Dreher; one half-brother, Jack Dreher; three nieces; five nephews; and two great-nieces. His father Jacque Dreher pre-deceased him. His favorite saying was “it be alright” A Memorial service and celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held Saturday, December 7, 2019 at New Harvest Fellowship (4289 Berryhill Rd, Milton, Fl.) at 1pm.
