A native of Mobile, Alabama, Minister Beverly J. Peterson was born February 9, 1959 to the parents of the late Elder Jessie Dixon and Mother Curley Dixon. She transitioned to her Heavenly home and gained her Heavenly wings on December 2, 2019 surrounded by her family and friends. Minister Beverly Peterson was known by many names by her family and friends, “Hollywood” (before Christ), “BB” (all of her life) and the “Anointed Woman of God” (after God called her and chose her to be a Warrior for Christ). She took on the calling and helped people to Christ. Minister Beverly completed her high school diploma online as an adult, because she never gave up on her dream of receiving her education. She continued her education at Bishop State Community College with a degree in Sewing and CNA. She enjoyed sewing, baking cakes, and singing was her passion. She worked in the medical field as a CNA and continued to work as a caretaker with the Senior Companion Program of Mobile County until her illness would not allow her to continue. Minister Beverly Peterson found Jesus Christ in her life as a young child. She was a member of the Eleventh Street C.O.G.I.C. until her parents moved the family to Theodore C.O.G.I.C. for years under the late Pastor Elder James Palmore until God spoke into her spirit to follow and support her brother as he followed Christ, Chief Apostle Gregory Adams at (New Jerusalem) old church name currently (Life Song Ministries) in Citronelle, AL. She currently was a devoted faithful, and dedicated member of Divine Direction Christian Center under the leadership of Bishop Charles Anderson, where she served as the Pastoral Care Committee President, the Armor Bearer to her Assistant Pastor, Prophetess Shirlet Anderson, worked with the Hospitality Committee, and the Cleaning Committee at her beloved church. Yes, Minister Beverly Peterson would help out in any area at the church that was needed faithfully while singing with her great big smile. Minister Beverly Peterson enjoyed being a mother, grandmother, and friend. She always felt that family is very important and that spending time with your love ones and showing them love and teaching them about God was important. Throughout her life, she witnessed to others about Jesus Christ through her singing, talks, prayers, correcting us no matter who you were (family or not), and then would give you that look. Everyone would know that she loved God because she let her light shine. She was a very special unique Godly woman. In the words of her nephew, “she naturally carried an expressive outgoing personality with apology. She could stand out in a room, and would tell you the truth about anything even if you did not like it. You would know exactly how she felt about you, she wouldn’t hide her feelings. She loved the Lord, her family, and friends.” Mom would help anyone and give her last. Her two favorite songs that you might hear her sing was “I’ve had my share of ups and downs” and “All things are possible if you only believe.” She believed and had the faith that God would heal her from her cancer on this side or the other side. “BB” was a fighter, very out spoken, tough, funny, a great singer, great baker, a homemaker and very independent. She fought cancer along for many years before telling her family and friends what she was going through, because she did not want to worry none of us. Through all the pain, through all the tears, through all of her weak days, and all of her fears, through the times she felt like giving up. “BB” hung in there because God still had her with some work. “BB” held on by smiling, praying, repenting, encouraging others, reading her bible, fasting (while on her sick bed), and singing until God saw fit to give her rest. She was preceded in death by her father, Elder Jessie and her sister, Mrs. Andrea Gibbs. Her beautiful life will be remembered and cherished in the lives of her devoted mother, Mother Curley Dixon; two devoted daughters: Prophetess Shirlet (Bishop Charles) Anderson and Christanne (Willie McCants, devoted friend) Adams both of Mobile, AL; to devoted grandchildren: Deneqwa Grigsby and Jerome Adams of Mobile, AL; two great-grandchildren: Sabastian Hill and Torri Carter bother of Mobile, AL; four brothers: Harold (Lynn) Adams of Atlanta, GA, Jessie (Joan) Dixon of Montgomery, AL, Terry (Alexia) Adams of Buffalo, NY and Chief Apostle Gregory (Prophetess Lindsay) Adams of Mobile, AL; three sisters: Patricia (Milton) Blackmon, Jackie Brock and Prophetess Joyce (Curtis) Brown all of Mobile, AL; devoted friend and love, Mr. Edward Wiggins of Mobile, AL; two devoted cousins: Helen and Linda Winfield bother of Mobile, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, other relatives and friends.
