Miss Melba Cook, age 62, of Whooping Creek Church Rd., Carrollton, Ga., passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010. She was born July 12, 1948 in Carrollton, Georgia the daughter of Hascal Asberry Cook and the late Fannie Lee Beasley Cook. Miss Cook retired from Lawler Hoisery Mill and was a member of New Lebanon Baptist Church. Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Melvin Troy Cook, Donald Roy Cook and William Edward Cook. Survivors include her father, Hascal Asberry Cook; brother, Rodney Eugene Cook and an aunt, Christine Cook. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 3:30 PM from the family residence with Rev. Quinnon Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence Wednesday from 11 AM until the funeral hour.
