Donald "Don" Beach,age 85, of Union, Iowa, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2019 at UPH Grinnell Regional in Grinnell, Iowa. Donald Paul Beach was born on November 2, 1934 at the Eldora Hospital in Eldora, Iowa to Paul Willard and Lola Ruth (Wooten) Beach. He grew up in New Providence and attended the Chester Friends Church. He attended the New Providence School and graduated with the Class of 1953. Don was enlisted in the U.S. Army in Ft. Hood, Texas from 1953-1955. On September 20, 1958, he married Shirley Williams at the First United Methodist Church in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Don and Shirley raised 2 children on the farm near New Providence before moving to Cedar Rapids when their 3rd child was born. Don farmed with his father until 1963, then built a successful career in farm equipment sales. In the mid 1980’s, Don and Shirley (Powell-Clark) moved back to New Providence on the Paul Beach Farm and made their life farming there until 2007 when they moved to Union. Don was united in marriage to Shirley (Powell-Clark) on October 18, 1986 on the Paul Beach Family Farm. Don was a member of the Honey Creek New Providence Friends Church, the New Providence Volunteer Fire Department and Farm Bureau. Don passed away on Monday, December 2, 2019 at Unity Point Hospital-Grinnell Regional in Grinnell, Iowa. Those remaining to cherish his memory are his daughter Denise (Brian) Carnahan of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sons Scott (Julie) Beach of Grinnell, Iowa and Kevin (Lori) Beach of Glendale, Arizona; stepchildren Kurt (Gina) Clark of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mike (Teressa) Clark Jr. of Cedar Rapid, Iowa and Tracy Seal of Illinois; grandchildren Christyn (Josh) Breja, Jennifer Carnahan, Matthew Carnahan, Nathan Beach, Renee (Andrew) Roos, Brandon Beach and Jacob Beach; five great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren; his sister Patricia (Larry) Sims of Churdan, Iowa and his faithful dogs Buddy and Abbey. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Lola Beach and his spouse Shirley Beach. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established
