Funeral services for Dorothy "Dottie" Bentley, 89, of Lovington, NM will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 10:00 am at Kirby-Smith Rogers Chapel with Michael Leamon officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Dottie was born on March 10, 1930 in Lecompte, LA to Ivy D. and Jennie (Saunders) Ellis and passed away on December 2, 2019 in Lubbock, TX. Dottie was married to William Bentley and they shared 68 years together. Dottie was raised in Louisiana. She liked to fish, and to win at the casino and was a people person. She and her husband liked going to eat at Furrs Cafeteria and she liked meeting and greeting the people there and she especially liked the kids that worked there. Dottie worked for Turners for seven years. She was preceded in death by: her parents; one brother: J.L Dino; one sister: Oleta Poisso. Surviving her is her husband Bill Bentley of Lovington, NM; one daughter: Patty and husband Andy McCallister of Tucson, AZ; two grandchildren: Amanda and husband Tom Tronsdal and Anna and husband Kevin Nichols; three grandchildren: Jolene, Cecilia and Mac. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 9:00 am till time for service.
