Carl (Dick) Niedfelt
Carl “Dick” Niedfelt, 79, of Grand Island, passed away Friday, December 11, 2015, at Golden Living Park Place in Grand Island. Dick Niedfelt was born in Grand Island on June 24, 1936, to Dick and Dorothy (Hohmann) Niedfelt. He attended District 23 School in Hall County. The family then moved to their farm southwest of Chapman in 1942, and Dick attended District 2 School and Chapman High School. He married Karen Niemoth at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Grand Island on November 4, 1962. They were married 53 years. He farmed and raised cattle until his retirement. Dick enjoyed being a farmer and spending time with his family. Dick is survived by his wife: Karen; daughter: Shelley (Steve) Schroeder of Phillips; son: Rick Niedfelt of Grand Island; grandson: Sam Schroeder; brother-in-law: Dave (Judy) Niemoth of Doniphan; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister: Audrey (Ray) Hongsermeier. Funeral service will be 10:30 am Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Grand Island. The Reverend William Schroeder will officiate. Interment will follow in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Monday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Messiah Lutheran Church.Obituary
