Joann Barber

Betty “Joann” Griffin Barber, age 77, of Winston, Georgia passed away Monday, October 26, 2015. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia on May 19, 1938, the daughter of the late Albert Thomas Griffin, Jr. and Mattie Artie Godby Griffin. Joann was a member of Kings Way Baptist Church in Douglasville, Georgia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sons, Larry Ford and Gary Ford; grandson Gary L. Ford, Jr. Survivors include her children and their spouses; Barbara and Ricky Barber of Winston, Brenda and Tom Berry of Villa Rica, Belinda and Matt Miskimon of Carrollton, Barry and Cindy Ford of Winder, Donald Ford of Winston, Judy Belcher of Winston, Frankie and Michelle Miller of Cedartown, Robert and Ember Hogsed of Fulton County; sister, Linda Hansen of McDonough; twenty-eight grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; two great- great-grandchildren, and nephew, James Thomas; one great niece and one great nephew. Per her wishes, she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Travis Pritchard and Rev. I am so sorry to read of Joann passing. I spent a lot of time in her home as a teenager. I always thought very highly of her and she always made me feel welcome. Prayers and hugs to all who loved her I know she will be missed.
