Ricky Marks Waukegan, Illinois Obituary

Ricky Marks

Ricky “Rick” Junior Marks, 64, transitioned into eternal life on November 21, 2019. He was born April 2, 1955 in Kenosha, WI to Bennie and Ruth Marks. He graduated from Tremper High School (Kenosha, WI) in 1973. After graduating, he joined and served in the United States Army. He loved his job at the Captain James A. Lovell VA Medical Center in North Chicago, IL. While interacting and encouraging veterans, he took extreme pride in his work, receiving numerous awards and recognitions. Professed by family as a “work-a-holic”, Ricky seldom took days off. Ricky thrived on spending quality time with friends, co-workers, and fellow veterans. Above all, Ricky was happiest being with his sons, Ryan James (deceased) and Ricky Denzel, along with his grandchildren A’Ryla, Amere, Adrian, and Analeah, whom he cherished and adored. Accepting Christ later in life, Ricky worked to help others overcome personal struggles and hardships, as he himself had done; thankful for opportunities to “pay it forward.” He enjoyed cooking and taking frequent trips to visit his parents, sons, grandchildren, and close relatives throughout Wisconsin, Kansas, and Arkansas. Ricky leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted son, Ricky D. Marks of Wichita, KS; four beloved grandchildren, A’Ryla, Amere, Adrian, and Analeah Marks, all of Wichita, KS; his parents, Bennie and Ruth Marks of Kenosha, WI; four sisters, Olivia, Dianne, Katherine Marks, all of Kenosha, WI, and Pattee Graves of Racine, WI; one sister-in-law, Bettye Ingram of Zion, IL; a special niece whom he lovingly referred to as “Boss Baby”, Kiesha (Tony) Mull of Zion, IL; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his son, Ryan J. Marks; his brother, Jimmie R. Ingram (Jimmie Ray); and nephew, James R. Ingram (Ramont).
